At this point in the chronicles of Deep Space 9, the Dominion had not yet entered into the consideration of the Federation ministers of propaganda. Evidently, this series was originated not to foment anti-Dominion sentiment but to garner support for the entrance of Bajor into the Federation and for the much maligned federation-Cardassian treaty. It would be several years before the Federation would realize the power of this saga to turn the Federation people against the Dominion.
